Jaxon's Story

Jaxon Robert Hunter was born on April 6, 2018—a happy, bright-eyed baby full of promise and love. Just shy of seven months old, Jaxon’s life was tragically cut short by an unimaginable act of violence.

On October 30, 2018, while the other children at his daycare were outside, Jaxon was sleeping peacefully in a playpen inside. A 10-year-old girl snuck into the home, picked him up, dropped him, and then stepped on his head at least seven times. After the assault, she calmly returned outside to play as if nothing had happened.

When the daycare provider discovered Jaxon, she immediately called 911. He was rushed to the local hospital and then airlifted to Gillette Children’s Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit.

Despite the tireless efforts of doctors and nurses, the extent of Jaxon’s injuries was devastating.

On November 1, 2018, surrounded by love, Jaxon passed away in his mother’s arms while holding his daddy’s hand. It was 7:58 p.m.

His story is heartbreaking, but Jaxon’s light lives on. Through Win4Jax, his memory becomes a force for good—offering comfort, hope, and dignity to other child victims who need to know they’re not forgotten.

The Origin of #Win4Jax

What began as a Sunday tradition—watching Minnesota Vikings games together—became one of the most cherished rituals shared between Jaxon and his dad. After Jaxon’s tragic passing, a friend posted the phrase #Win4Jax on Facebook during the first Vikings game that followed.

The message resonated. It stuck. And soon, it became more than just a football tribute.

In the months that followed, #Win4Jax evolved. It was used alongside #Justice4Jax as a rallying cry for accountability and a just outcome in the criminal proceedings. But even beyond the courtroom, the phrase took on deeper meaning.

Today, Win4Jax represents something bigger. It’s a movement to create meaningful, lasting change in the lives of child victims of violent crimes, especially those harmed by other juveniles. Every gift given, every moment of comfort offered, every child reminded that they are not forgotten—each one is a “win.” A win for them. A win for Jaxon’s memory.
